From Chambéry or Lyon, the route runs the A43 and A430 past Albertville, then the Tarentaise valley through Moûtiers and Bourg-Saint-Maurice to Tignes.
From Geneva, the drive follows the A41 and A43 past Annecy and Chambéry before joining the same route.
