Nice to Èze: Private Transfer

A private transfer from Nice Airport to Èze takes 25 minutes by motorway. But the motorway misses the point entirely.

Two Roads

Èze sits at 427 metres above the Mediterranean. There are two ways to reach it. The A8 motorway drops you at the Èze exit and sends you up a switchback road through pine forest — functional, direct, forgettable.

The Grande Corniche — the old coastal road built by Napoleon — takes longer and gives you something else entirely. The road hugs the cliff edge above Monaco, Beaulieu, and Cap Ferrat. At certain points the sea is directly below and the horizon is all there is. It is one of the more quietly extraordinary drives in Europe. Most people who have sat in the back on this road once ask for it again.

Sunrise

Èze at dawn is a different place. The village is empty. The light arrives from behind the Alps and catches the stone walls of the medieval houses before the tourists and the coach parties appear. If your transfer arrives early — or if you're heading there for a morning visit — this is the version of Èze that stays with you.

The Village

The medieval village itself sits at the very top — cars stop at the lower entrance, and everything above is on foot. The gardens of the Jardin Exotique at the summit offer a 360-degree view that includes Monaco, Cap Ferrat, and on clear days, Corsica. The Fragonard perfume factory sits at the foot of the village — one of the oldest on the Riviera, open daily.

Instagram Stops

The coastal road between Nice and Èze has several natural viewpoints where the road briefly widens. If you want to stop — for a photograph, for the view, for five minutes of quiet before arriving — say so. It takes no extra time and changes the arrival entirely.
