Saint-Tropez is 110 kilometres from Nice Airport. Google Maps says 1 hour 40 minutes. In August, plan for three.
This is the most unpredictable transfer on the Riviera. And also one of the most requested.
Saint-Tropez has no motorway connection. The A8 takes you as far as Le Muy — then it's the D98 through Grimaud and the final approach. This last stretch is where everything slows down. In July and August, Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons are the worst: the road fills with rental cars, delivery vans, and visitors who underestimated the distance. There is no shortcut. There is only knowing when to leave.
The recommendation: before 09:00 or after 20:00 in high season. Midweek is faster than weekends. If your flight lands at 14:00 on a Saturday in August, budget 3 hours minimum.
There is an alternative route through the hills above the coast — longer in kilometres, shorter in time when the coastal roads are blocked. It's not a route for passengers with motion sensitivity. The turns are real. But for those who don't mind, it saves time and arrives from an angle that most drivers don't use. If you want it, say so when booking.
Public transport to Saint-Tropez involves a train to Saint-Raphaël or Cannes, followed by a bus or ferry. With luggage and a family after a flight, this is not a realistic option. A private transfer is the only door-to-door solution.
Many clients staying near Pampelonne — the long beach south of the town — are surprised by how far it is from the centre. It's a 10-minute drive from Saint-Tropez itself. Specify your exact address when booking. Drop-off at beach club entrances, private residences, or marinas is all handled the same way.
High season bookings should be made at least 48–72 hours in advance. Availability tightens quickly in July and August.
