The Road There
From Geneva, the route runs via Thonon-les-Bains on the D902, or via Cluses on the D907/D902, to Morzine and up the D338 to Avoriaz.
The D338, known locally as the Route d'Avoriaz, climbs directly from Morzine to Avoriaz's own car parks at resort level.
Arriving in Avoriaz
Avoriaz is a purpose-built, pedestrian-only resort: once you're there, there is no vehicle traffic on its streets. Vezzora's chauffeur drives the D338 up to Avoriaz's resort-level car parks, as close to your accommodation as the road allows.
An alternative valley-floor route exists for those who prefer not to drive the final climb: the Prodains Express cable car, a 4-minute ride from Les Prodains near Morzine, with its own car park at the base station.
Weekend Travel
Avoriaz is not in the Tarentaise, so the N90/Albertville-Moûtiers pattern doesn't apply. Allow some extra time on peak Saturdays in high season, and check the D902/D907 for traffic before you travel.
